Math, Language Arts

Math Grade 6 –  Students are to finish a sheet “Comparing and Ordering Integers”. We will review for our quiz tomorrow, and I will give students some practice questions to work on to prepare for it. The quiz will be this Thursday. I  encouraged the students to take their math duotang home so they can look over what has been covered in the unit.

Language Arts (reading) – We have finished reading to the end of chapter 3 of Bridge to Terabithia. We are doing a parts of speech word study in class that has the students classifying the vocabulary words as nouns, verbs, adjectives or adverbs. We will talk more about these as the year moves on. We are also taking a closer look at 3 forms of figurative language: similes, metaphors and personification.

Chocolate bars went home today as our annual fall fundraiser kicked off. If your child wants more bars to sell, they must bring in a note from parents saying that they have permission. Students who wanted to sell bars were only allowed to take one box (30 bars) home today.
